I am a retired commercial photographer, but I am drawn to painting. My art explores how structure and instinct come together. I build up layers of paint, scrape them back, and add more until the surface becomes thick and textured. While my paintings do not directly show landscapes, old buildings, or organic growth, they often suggest these forms. Whether I use soft pastel grids, warm flowing areas, or dark glowing shapes, I am always interested in how surface, color, and texture can hold memory and emotion.
